My Core Wound
Kate Maryon and Daniel Johnson — the people behind My Core Wound.
We created My Core Wound after decades of sitting with people — individually and as couples — whose lives were quietly organised around an early wound they could feel but rarely name. In our rooms, that pattern shows up in the body first: the bracing, the collapse, the over-giving, the holding back. What we have discovered is that the combination of somatic wisdom, depth psychology and the symbolism of astrology offers a potent form that anyone can use to inquire privately, at their own pace, without waiting for a session or pretending the wound should simply be fixed.
This app is not therapy and not a substitute for human support. It is an invitation to honest self-reflection: to see the shape of your wound clearly, meet it with compassion, and discover what it might become when it is no longer hidden.
Self-realisation, embodiment & radical honesty
Kate offers a path of Self-inquiry and Embodiment for individuals, couples, children, families, and groups. Exploring the psychological, emotional, and felt sense of your experience, sometimes using movement and creativity, Kate will take you on an exploration of your inner world. She’ll hold your hand whilst you explore all and any developmental and relational trauma, stuck patterns, old hurts, limiting beliefs, and cultural conditioning - all and anything in the way of you transforming your wound into wisdom so you might realise and embody your true nature and potential.
Known for both supreme gentleness and candid directness, Kate will point you back to the truth of your own experience and inner wisdom — she’ll be a loving, no-bullshit companion as you make peace with the past and discover what becomes possible when you stop living from the wound alone.
Somatic Experiencing & body-based trauma therapy
Daniel is a somatic therapist who specialises in developmental and relational trauma. His work is grounded in the understanding that the body holds its own story — that fear, grief, and overwhelm live in involuntary responses long after the mind has explained them away.
Daniel supports people to gently approach what they have spent years avoiding: oriented toward freeing the life-force bound up in old defences.
Daniel’s background spans zoology, computer science, community building and a range of healing modalities - breath, body and movement work and Somatic Experiencing and astrology. He has a lifelong curiosity about how people heal. He brings the same meticulous care to the systems behind My Core Wound as he does to the nervous systems in his therapy room.
My Core Wound is a labour of love. If it has been useful, you can make a contribution.
